Marjorie “Marge” Joan LeBarge (85), born on the 11th day of June 1938 in Buxton, Maine, died peacefully surrounded by those who loved her on the 14th day of April 2024, in Sebastian, Florida.
Marge was a factory worker for many years in the medical field building parts for pacemakers in Kennebunk, Maine before she met the love of her life, Robert, in 1974 at a party he hosted. He needed a caretaker and Marge, while hesitant, agreed to care for him and eventually fell in love and had a daughter, Amber, by surprise. Marge retired at age 61 to be a caretaker for her husband, daughter, and granddaughter.
Marge lived a long life with countless stories to tell. One fact she often would tell people is that she obtained a license in 5 different states. Although she traveled from California to Maine, she ultimately settled down in Maine for many years before moving to Florida, to be closer to family.
Marge was known for her extraordinary work ethic and resilience to life’s challenges. She had a light that paved the way on every path she wandered. Marge enjoyed the small things in life…long drives in the car, the smell of a fresh cup of coffee brewing in the pot, the slight thrill of shouting BINGO on that winning number. She placed value in her relationships and truly loved getting to know others and never judged anybody by their story.
Marge loved like Jesus. She praised and worshipped on every occasion. She knew the Lord saved her, that she was His daughter, and she would have eternal life. She was known to have a poem or a riddle for any and every situation. She came prepared to be the life of the party, from her sparkling outfits to her pink hair and nails to match; she knew how to make a room smile.
Marge came from a large family and was no stranger to grief. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Robert F. LeBarge; Mother, Vera Dubay; Father, Clarence Marshall; 9 siblings; Son, Ray Morrissette; Daughter, Gail Morrissette.
Marge is survived by her children; Bonnie Holland, Amber LeBarge, and Daniel Morrissette; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and distant relatives.
