I remember he was the first person who taught me how to shoot a gun..
I used to practically live with my aunt and uncle when they were married and remember helping him pull firewood out of a piece of land in Sterling..
I don’t think I was 10 years old driving the tractor when I ran over a sapling and basically blew the radiator out of the tractor…
I ran in the woods to tell him what happened, scared I’d get screamed at..
As we walked up to the tractor he said with a smile on his face damn kid you did a number on this one but it’s ok nothing we can’t fix…
I used to get screamed at all the time by my father so when he didn’t yell at me I wasn’t sure how to react.. I just remember the look on his face and the tone of his voice that for once made me feel like I wasn’t a fuck up…
I always appreciated every moment and memory I got to hang out with him..
He was a great man..

Henry, your dad and I created a perfect gift during our marriage. You are so incredibly love adored and cherished. Your dad cried the day you were born. He had so much patience with you. He passed his talent and knowledge of logging, farming and so mechanically inclined . You definitely got the best of your dad, which is compassion and the gift of conversations. Bill, you will be missed.

Karen, Henry, Eryn, I am so very sorry for your loss. Having only known Bill for several years I was very fond of him. He always made every visit a special time to be with Karen and family. I’m grateful to have spent time getting to know him and to find out first hand what a great guy he was. Kind, compassionate, helpful, funny, creative, and never afraid of hard work. I’ll always remember how he opened his home and heart to me. I will miss him but he will hold a warm place in my heart. I know he’ll spend much time looking after his family. RIP
