Goldman, Rona Evelyn

December 14, 1933 ~ August 03, 2023

Rona Evelyn Goldman, age 89, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on August 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband, Edmund (Eddie) W. Goldman and very dear friends.

Rona was born on December 14th, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland to Solomon Kellman and Bessie (Foreman) Kellman.  She was predeceased by her older sister, Florence and a younger brother, Mark.

She was brilliant and capable.  She graduated in 1981 as a Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCVT) by the National Alliance of Cardiovascular Technologists.  She went on to teach Medical Assisting students, not only providing them with the solid medical background that they needed to succeed, but she also provided them with the self-confidence they needed to reach their full potential.  At the urging of 17 of her adoring Medical Assisting students, former Governor, Harry Hughes, of Maryland, declared November 15, 1985, “Rona Goldstein Day!”

In 1989 she received her degree as a Technical Instructor Perceiver Specialist by Selection Research Inc.  She moved up to Medical Assisting Program Director and later, Externship and Public Relations Director, retiring in 1996.

She married Eddie Goldman in 1998. They enjoyed cruising, dining, theatre, music, and dancing together.  They were inseparable.  She closed her eyes knowing he would be cared for and loved after she was gone.

She was a highly intelligent and meticulously well-organized individual.  She was keenly self-aware, with the mind of a scientist, pondering existence and questioning so-called truths.  She was a friend to everyone, always ready to use her analytical mind and kind heart to lend a hand. She was a compassionate, loving, no nonsense, finely dressed, elegant lady.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Mark Lawrence (Larry) Goldstein in 2021, an intense blues singer and song writer and a highly creative, talented antenna engineer with many inventions.  She met her best friend, whom she called her angel, through Larry.  They were like close sisters.

Preceding Rona in death was her first husband, Donald L. Goldstein, of Baltimore, MD and their son, Steven Goldstein, of Jerusalem, Israel, his wife, Fayge, their five children, many great-grandchildren and her step-son, Robert (Robbie) Goldman of Baltimore.

In her memory, find someone who has a need and lend a hand.  If you have the means, please donate to the ALS Association or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, causes dear to hear heart.

Dear Rona, I was heartbroken to discover that you have recently passed but glad to know that you are not seeing and hearing what we are all seeing and hearing about Israel right now. I have been trying to get ahold of you for days to see if Stephan and his family are okay. Contrary to your obituary, I was under the impression that they are all alive and well, and if they are indeed living in Jerusalem, then I am relieved. You were always the sweet mother figure that I did not have and I was so pleased to remain in contact with you after Larry passed. I will miss you a great deal but am at peace knowing where you are. Love and hugs, Pat

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
