Janice Little Bell, a beautiful person, age 92, passed away in Vero Beach, FL on Thursday July 6.
A longtime resident of Wichita, KS and 22 year resident of lovely Vero Beach. She was a kind and loving person who dedicated her life to providing for and supporting her family.
Survived by many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born in 1930 in Methuen, MA, she said she never expected to spend most of her life in the Great Plains of Wichita, KS. However, upon her graduation from Westminster Choir College in 1952, Princeton, NJ she married C. Robert Bell, and returned with him to Kansas after he graduated Harvard Law. She was gifted musically and loved to perform on the organ. Although she had several jobs, including at the Fogg Art Museum Library, Cambridge, MA and in the travel agent business, her main focus was on her family and she did a wonderful job, instilling a love for caring for others, as is present strongly in the family she leaves behind. Some of you may remember her from Attorney’s wives, PEO, College Hill neighborhood, Ninnescah Yacht Club, Tallgrass Country Club and First Presbyterian Church. She was very lucky to have seen much of the world through travel.
Preceded in death by parents, Sidney Little (an emigrant from Trowbridge, England in the woolen milling business) and Mina Gatcomb Little of Calais, Maine (a descendant of Captain John Alden, of the “Mayflower)” and sister Barbara Little, Lancaster,PA, a distinguished reporter, and husband C. Robert Bell, Jr., “Judge Bob Bell” to whom she was married for 67 years.
She leaves behind children, Barbie Bell Luckey (Greg) of Canton, GA, Robert Bell III (Eric Engstrom) of Wichita, KS, Nancy Bell Carr, (Mike) of Vero Beach, FL, Bradley L. Bell (Linda) of Wichita, KS, Jamie Bell (Christy Kirk) of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Luckey Cochran, Brad Luckey and spouses of Marietta, GA, Jon Carr and spouse Natalie, Nick Carr and Corey Carr of Simi Valley, CA, Vero Beach, FL and Chicago,IL, Zack Bell (Jessica) and Kyle Bell (Ali) of Florida, Josh Bell (Sarah) of Wichita, KS and 6 great grandchildren.
