Hal and I dated in high school and kept in touch throughout our lives. He loved playing sports and played every season of football, basketball, and American Legion Baseball. I watched many a game, went to dances after, played miniature golf at Geneva on the Lake, shared many a pizza after. We attended different high schools and he loved it when Harbor High School beat Ashtabula High School. When I visited him in 2022, he remembered every detail about the trouncings, totally made me laugh. He graduated as Valedictorian and was keenly interested in all about him. I remember his solving trig problems on the frosted windows of the car. He enjoyed playing football so much that he played all though college. He was a Shakespeare fan and reread all of his plays a few years ago. And, a big fan of movie musicals and the symphony. Truly a man for all seasons. He was an important part of my youth and helped me grow up.
I am very saddened by the loss of that sharp mind and droll sense of humor. I will miss his presence in this world.
Silvia took such good care of her dear husband. I am so sorry for her loss.

My dear friend Silvia, the times well spent with Hal will be forever in our memories. As a professional co-worker with his vast experience and expertise he helped us all to achieve a better chemical process safety and plant design. He was resourceful, reliable and friendly.
But most importantly, he will be missed as a friend. Our deepest condolences to the whole family.
